Bradley Robinson: Unsung Hero

Greenville native Bradley Robinson strongly believes that students have a vision. However, he knows that sometimes they still fall by the wayside. This is where he comes in and fills in the gap.

Robinson is the Resource Development Coordinator for Sunbelt Human Advancement Resources (SHARE), a non-profit agency providing services for low and moderate-income families in Upstate South Carolina. He is responsible for promoting SHARE to the general public, garnering the support and solicitation of funds and advocating for all services and programs with the agency.

The self-proclaimed family and community-oriented husband and father is also a travel enthusiast. Along with his wife, Winnical, daughter, Bayley and son, Kristopher, Robinson attends worship services at the Reedy Fork Baptist Church. At Reedy Fork, he teaches Sunday School lessons, another way he gives back to his community.

Robinson is involved locally with the 100 Black Men of Greenville, where he is a mentor to other young men. He is a class three graduate of the Diversity Leadership Academy, having been nominated to participate. "This is an Upstate initiative that promotes the concept that in order to progress, we must be more inclusive of those who are different from us," said Robinson.

The Carolina High graduate and Winthrop University alumni also participates in "Get out and Vote," a project that transports registered voters to the polls on Election Day. Robinson's degree in Business, with a concentration in Human Resources Management, supports his hands-on approach to work for his community.

The positive work that Bradley Robinson does for the Upstate is reflective of his family roots. If given the opportunity, he would have enjoyed meeting his grandfather, Wavous Robinson, who passed away before he was born. He finds pride in the legacy of his grandfather because he was a sharecropper who later became a property owner. For him, this gives identity to the source of an undying determination to succeed as well as help others reach their dreams.

Bradley Robinson is an "Unsung Hero" for his ability to identify potential in people that can't always see it in themselves. To him, there are still shinning stars that, with a little help, will someday shine for everyone to see.
