The mission of Freedom Church is to equip God's people to achieve personal and corporate destiny. We do this by empowering people spiritually, emotionally, educationally, socially, economically, and politically. As a Christ-centered ministry, we are inclusive of ALL people, fully embracing in our lives and ministry people of every race, gender, culture, affectional and/or sexual orientation, family configuration, physical or mental condition, and all other distinctions which are the rich tapestry of God's creation. So Yes, we open our doors to everyone. However, we live in a society that chooses what it will condone. The greatest model for Christianity and who is to be accepted is Jesus Christ. For Christ turned on one away, but created an environment for ALL, especially those on the margins to experience the loving and gentle grace bestowed upon us by a sovereign and compassionate God. Our mission is to be intentionally diverse and radically inclusive, to be intentional welcoming and accepting of ALL persons; especially those who have traditionally lived at the margins of society, such as people suffering from substance abuse; people living with HIV/AIDS; same-gender loving people; the recently incarcerated; single mothers; and those with disabilities.
At the core of our vision is to follow the teachings and practices of Jesus Christ who exemplified the radical acceptance and ministry to ALL people. We are called to challenge fundamental, deep-seated Christian belief systems, doctrines and theologies which characterize people on the edge as enemies of God. We also deliberately challenge any theology or teaching that consistently mistreats, oppresses and excludes people from the community of faith. We believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ beckons us to provide a safe place and a place of refuge for ALL persons who have been wounded by oppression. God is sending out a mandate for the community of faith to provide a place that restores nurtures and empowers ALL people to fulfill their divine purpose in God through the teachings of a loving and inclusive Christ. Why is it that folks who choose to live this way always have to beat down on Christians who try to live by the bible. You NEVER hear then talk about muslims, buhdist, or any other non-christian belief. I feel that this is a rebellious church. A group of individuals who choose to "get back" at the God-Fearing Bible Believing Christians who hurt them. Its true that most Christians do turn their backs on individuals not just homosexualsbut the adulturess, fornicator, the felon etc. No one is perfect. Not you, me, big ma, auntie, unk, preacher, bishop or pastor. NO ONE! So to argue with them about their religious choice is not going to get us any where. So I just pray that God's Grace and Mercy will keep US and the truth shall be revealed.

I am with holding my name not because Im not proud of who i am. I just choose to be discrete. My father is a pastor, I grew up n the church. I know that being gay is a sin, but so i judging. I personally feel God is a funny God. I feel that if God didn't want me to live i would have left this earth a long time ago. after entering into a Gay lifestyle i have never felt that God has blessed me less, or protected me any less. I think freedom church is a good think that people need. The church can be a friend to the friendless and a family to someone who has been disowned by their families because of their lifestyle.

Hi kelly, I am openly lesbian and am a proud mom of two beautiful daughters, have a wonderful partner who adores me. It really bothered me to hear some of the comments that people were making simply because they may be talking badly about friends,family, or co-workers and don't even know it. We in the lgbt community would like to live and worship just as anyone else would. I pay taxes and abide by the laws just as they do, so why can't I attend a church that's geared toward me. My girls are happy well rounded, I am a home owner and to see me you may not even know I am a lesbian. so people should think slowly, and speak even slower. thanks!
