Greenville County officers say a body found in an abandoned mobile home is that of a missing eight-year-old girl, and the case is now being treated as a homicide.
Deputies say Dymia Janae Woody was last seen playing in a neighborhood near Old Grove and Hosten Road Monday night around 9:00 p.m.
Around midnight, the Sheriff's Office found a body - that resembles the child - in an abandoned mobile home on Carly Drive. Tuesday before 8 a.m., the coroner's office identified the body as that of Dymia Woody. This afternoon, the coroner's office released details of the autopsy. The autopsy revealed Woody died from "asphyxiation due to her breathing being obstructed." There were also signs of sexual assault.
"Something we're looking at is why she was in here. Is this a place she came willingly or somebody took her in here," said Master Deputy Michael Hildebrand of the Greenville County Sheriff's Office. "That will be part of the investigation."
Hildebrand says the abandoned home where Dymia was found has no electricity. The scene was left untouched overnight because deputies did not want to disturb any evidence. They will head back to the scene Tuesday morning to investigate.

Where did they "think" she was? How could her mother be on television talking as though her car or other material item was stolen, like she could already accept the death of her daughter? Didn't she have a different hair style each day? Wasn't she at a car dealership when the police notified them of the arrest of Sam Young? I think that some responibility falls on Dymia's family. As parents we have a duty to protect and provide our children with the best care possible.

And while it's sad that a little girl is dead, I'm eternally grateful that it isn't my daughter. I truly wouldn't know what to do if it was her. But the sadness felt by everyone in the community is long and hard and only the grace of God will comfort everyone involved, including my child who will lose her best friend and supporter, as he was there for her many times over the past two years. R-Kelly is a child molester and the entire world has evidence of this. Video tapes of him having sex with a underage female, marrying Alliah at the age of 15. The radio stations still support him still but the 8yr old little girl Dymia Woody a resident of Greenville,SC was also raped but sadly she didn't live to go to trial or to have her family paid off to keep shut.Is that what it takes to talk about a situation where you have a man force his self on a female at any age for people to speak out!People need to start speaking out on things of this matter no matter who the person is or how much money they have. Are does it have to be your 8year old daughter,mother, sister, niece or god daughter to speak out. This is real yall and men need to be put up front when things like this happen. R-Kelly is no differnt than any other man in this universe. When we keep quiet this is what happens it gets worst some men have problems that need to be addressed immediately.So speak up don't sit and let this continue to go on and cost another female her life.
- lil dymia woodyi dont live in grove estates but i have family who does. my daughter was often over there. She too played outside. All i keep thinking about is that it could have been my daughter. I talk to my daughter all the time about strangers and what to do if someone tries to hurt her, we had the converstation the other day. My heartfelt prayers go out to the Woody family. and i hope that her killer is brought to justice, so that Dymia and her family can be at peace.
