God said, "Don't worry."

GOD has kept us here (in this position) for a reason!

We have survived because HE has an awesome plan for US!

All our bad supervisors, (he has moved) the bad management choices (he's currently working on) don't give up!

The death of loved ones, the back stabbing from people in your life, remember, NO weapon formed against US, shall prosper - Don't Even Worry!

The negative thoughts or the lack of support; WE made it and continue to make it because WE ARE BLESSED! They can't hurt US!

Release and let go of all past hurts & misunderstandings....WE ARE BLESSED!

Now give yourself a hug, wipe your tears and walk in victory!

IF YOU DO IT RIGHT. GOD HAS A WAY OF TURNING THINGS AROUND FOR YOU AFTER YOU TURN TO HIM! HAVE A BLESSED DAY.

"No Weapon formed against me shall prosper."

Tolliver crowned Miss Black Spartanburg

Tanisha Nicole Tolliver went from flattered to overwhelmed in an instant.

Tanisha Nicole Tolliver waves to an audience after being crowned Miss Black Spartanburg on Friday night.

Tolliver, 19, was crowned 2008 Miss Black Spartanburg on Friday night as the Epsilon Nu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity presented the 34th annual Miss Black Spartanburg Regional Scholarship Pageant with a theme of "Change."

The Chapman Cultural Center hosted the event for the first time, and Tolliver, a music education major at Lander University, took center stage with her soulful rendition of George Gershwin's "Summertime" from the opera "Porgy and Bess." The Spartanburg native, who was the 2007 contest's first runner-up, drew a standing ovation from the crowd.

"I've been praying for this and wanting this, and God blessed me," Tolliver said. "I've been singing since I was 3, getting on my mom's nerves."

Right before the talent contest winner was announced, several in the crowd shouted "10," the number assigned to Tolliver. She said the shouts helped her keep a relaxed smile as the tension built.

Tolliver, daughter of Vive B. and Terrence Tolliver, also won the formal wear and evening gown competitions to help secure the tiara.

Tolliver said she learned three P's as the keys to pageantry, saying, "prepare early, practice and pray, and God will see you through."

Shameka McKinney, 2007's winner, recited her poem "Only God Can Judge Me" before transferring the sash Friday.

Kelda Latrelle Beatty, 19, of Gaffney was named first runner-up; Jessica Johnice Mills, 24, of Spartanburg was second runner-up; and Jusandra Antral Robinson, 18, of Greer, third runner-up.

Brittany Monique Smith, 18, was named Miss Congeniality, as voted on by the contestants. Smith and Blake Kristen Rice, 18, each of Spartanburg, tied in the fitness/swimsuit competition.

Beatty, who was third runner-up in 2006, is majoring in history at North Greenville University. She said she enjoyed the camaraderie during twice-weekly preparations for the event.

"Whoever needed help, no one was too shy to ask," Beatty said. "We love each other to death. Although it's a competition, we're not going to show favorites. We're going to hang out together and keep in touch."

The pageant was co-directed by Gladys Walker and Margarette Bell-Miller. Kelly Mac of 107.3 JAMZ served as mistress of ceremonies, and Warren Carson served as master of ceremonies.

Pageant Chairman Vernon D. Beatty said in the program that the organizers decided on the theme of "Change" to encourage contestants and audience members to think about changes in their lives that have happened and can happen.

That's not all that's going to change: Starting next year, the pageant's name will become the Miss Black Upstate Pageant.

For some reason everytime I pray God puts it in my heart to pray for you. I always ask him to give you strength. I ask him to do that becuase you do so much. You give people knowledge, hope, you make people laugh. I believe that you even save lives. You make women want to be like you. A powerful hardworking woman. I believe it is going to go much futher than that. So in advance I pray that God gives you strength because you are going to need it. Something great is about to happen with you. I really do believe that.

Just wanted to let you know.

*Within hours of her new track being "leaked" onto the Internet, Whitney Houston was snapped by paps being softly kissed by her rumored boy toy Ray J in the backseat of a car in Los Angeles.

Various cameras caught Houston, 44, hours earlier going into Villa nightclub in West Hollywood, then later emerging and climbing into a car with Ray J, the 27-year-old artist who is rumored to be her main squeeze. That's when the smooching took place.

Also last weekend, Houston's new track "Like I Never Left," found its way onto the Internet. There's no word if the song will appear on her long-awaited comeback album, expected to be released in the fall.

Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., appears in a sit-down interview with his wife Michelle and daughters, Tuesday on "Access Hollywood," a nightly entertainment news program that's more apt to focus on the tawdry tales of Hollywood than the inner workings of Washington.

A hard-hitting interview on Obama's plans for Iraq or the economy, it's not.

But it does mark the first time the entire Obama family -- including daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7 -- sit down for a family interview, though the Obama campaign insists it wasn't planned that way.

Public Figures, Private Lives

The interview, taped on the Fourth of July while the family vacationed in Butte, Mont., was far from the prying eyes of the horde of journalists that trail Obama every day during the campaign, but it does raise the public profile of Obama's young children.

Malia tells entertainment reporter Maria Menounos she's looking forward to decorating her room in the White House if her father wins in November.

"I enjoy decorating, so I get this whole new room to do whatever I want," said Malia, according to excepts provided by "Access Hollywood."

Kanye West

story from: www.eurweb.com

*Chicago Sun-Times columnist Bill Zwecker says the team behind Kanye West has suggested he take anger management classes to become more attractive to potential advertisers.

"A West insider tells me the entertainer's own management team dreamed up the idea, for two reasons: to help his personal psychological well-being and relationship with friends -- and to aid him in snaring lucrative endorsement deals," Zwecker wrote in Thursday's edition.

He said two major corporations (a cosmetics/fragrance firm and an automotive manufacturer) have shown interest in the rapper/producer as a spokesman, but they're worried about "how easy he'll be to work with."

The source tells Zwecker: "Not only has Kanye estranged himself from some pretty important people in the music business, but his temper has driven away a number of longtime friends."

Greenville County officers say a body found in an abandoned mobile home is that of a missing eight-year-old girl, and the case is now being treated as a homicide.

Deputies say Dymia Janae Woody was last seen playing in a neighborhood near Old Grove and Hosten Road Monday night around 9:00 p.m.
Around midnight, the Sheriff's Office found a body - that resembles the child - in an abandoned mobile home on Carly Drive. Tuesday before 8 a.m., the coroner's office identified the body as that of Dymia Woody. This afternoon, the coroner's office released details of the autopsy. The autopsy revealed Woody died from "asphyxiation due to her breathing being obstructed." There were also signs of sexual assault.

"Something we're looking at is why she was in here. Is this a place she came willingly or somebody took her in here," said Master Deputy Michael Hildebrand of the Greenville County Sheriff's Office. "That will be part of the investigation."
Hildebrand says the abandoned home where Dymia was found has no electricity. The scene was left untouched overnight because deputies did not want to disturb any evidence. They will head back to the scene Tuesday morning to investigate.
