Pastor Curtis L. Johnson
Biography
Pastor Curtis L. Johnson, a native of Greenville, South Carolina, was born to Deacon William & Sadie Johnson. He is a graduate of J.L. Mann High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he served for four years. While in the Air Force, Pastor Johnson felt the call to come home to help his grandfather, the Rev. A. B. Sherman, build Valley Brook Outreach Baptist Church.
Pastor Johnson preached his initial sermon in August of 1990 and became the Senior Pastor of Valley Brook Outreach Baptist Church in May of 1993
Over the years, he has organized Kingdom Builders Pastors Fellowship for the purpose of fostering strong relationships among pastors. Additionally, he organized the African-American and Latino/Hispanic Roundtable consisting of leaders in both the respective minority communities.
In a continued effort to build, Pastor Johnson is the Founder of the MLK Dream Weekend– a community-wide celebration of events representing Dr. Martin Luther King's theme's of diversity and empowerment for the Greenville area. (Thanks to the entire upstate community for your incredible support!)
Furthering his service to the community, Pastor Johnson is the Gospel Director with the #1 rated radio show the Upstate on the #1 station in the nation, 107.3 JAMZ. His shows are broadcast Sundays, 7am-1pm and Monday – Friday, 4am-6am, where his nuggets of wisdom are an inspiration to many.
Pastor Johnson has studied at Morris College School of Religion extension program, the American Baptist Theological Seminary extension program, North Greenville College, and Greenville Technical College. He is currently a student at Gardner-Webb University in the M. Christopher White Divinity School Master of Divinity Program.
He has been nominated as one of the "Outstanding Young Men of America". His academic performance earned him recognition on the "National Dean's List". He is listed in the three editions of Dunn and Bradstreet's National Registry of "Who's Who among Executives and Businesses."
Through his preaching and teaching, God has used Pastor Johnson to affect the lives of many churches, pastors, men, women, and youth. He and his wife, First Lady Charla Johnson, partner together to build lives and relationships for the Kingdom of God. They have two sons, Isaiah & Joshua.

BEST MOVIE:I really like "A Soldier's Story" from way back in the day with Denzel Washington, Adolph Caesar and several other folk that became famous later. But, my best of all time is probably "Coming to America" bcuz it has the funniest quotes, or "Lean on Me." I like to see strong leadership make an impact and change thangs. However, whenever "My Cousin Vinny" is on, I have to sit down and watch that too though!
FAVORITE ARTIST: Fred Hammond..He's still my boy! Marvin Winans latest CD is off the chain too! It is for GROWN folks though! Everybody may not feel him like I do! You have to have gone through some thangs! But, my sister, Darlene (Johnson) McCoy has BLOWN UP!!
FAVORITE FOOD: BBQ Ribs or Lasagna (they help me determine whether I'll ever return to a restaurant)
FAVORITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY: Umm, accepting Christ when I was 15.(Deep huh) OK den...Either that or playing football on Sunday afternoons with Frankie, Adrian, and Nang n'em and running the score up to like 105-98.. and stuff like that...ROFL!
SPORTS TEAM: Carolina Panthers (we gotta DO it this year!)
TV SHOW: Umm, other than the morning news, American Idol (I guess...don't watch much TV) Maybe America's Funniest Home Videos, or the Reality Shocking Video shows. U know what I'm sayin? The Cop chases, accidents, crazy videos and thangs! I like real stuff! I don't really watch TV, Man...
TV CHANNEL:ESPN, CNN, or BET..Sometimes the Comedy Channel
VACATION SPOT: San Diego, Miami, or Orlando. Been checkin out the pics from Du'Bai though..pretty cool!
DREAM CAR:Don't have a dream car in mind....Too many more important thangs to be dreamin bout! LOL!.....Driving a Mercedes right now, but my dream will come true when it's PAID OFF!! Feel me?

IF I WAS PRESIDENT,I'D PICK WHO TO BE MY VP: Without a DOUBT, Colin Powell! I've been hoping to get him to this area for a LONG time (if you have connections, holla atcha Bruh!). He was Chairman of Joint Chiefs while I was in the Air Force and I've been watchin what he does ever since. I believe he and I could DO DIS!!! Either him, or one of my sons, Isaiah or Joshua! My 2 little dudes are OFF Da CHAIN!!! LOL!

The scripture is so IRONIC...(1Kings 1:11) I had to spend the night in a roach motel to keep from giving my 15yr old son back to God for real. And thats right I prayed all night in that room #111 (God Save My Child) Rev Johnson, send a Pray blessing my way and keep doing Kingdom Building Work!
