Kelly's Bio

Kelly Mac has been an essential part of WJMZ since joining the team in August of 2006. She was brought in as the Afternoon Drive Host, Assistant Program Director and Music Director. After only two Arbitron Rating Periods, Ms. Mac ranked #1 with adults 18-49 and 25-54 during her Day-Part. After 2 successful years of hosting Afternoon Drive & the addition of the Michael Baidsen Show, Kelly was moved to Middays where she is currently #1 in the Middays amongst adults 18-49 and 25-54.

In 2008, Ms. Mac was named the R&R On Air Personality of the year. September 2010 will mark her 11th year in radio. She began her career as a receptionist for a radio station in Cleveland, OH. After two years she was named the Programming/Music Coordinator, eventually gaining an on air slot. Since 2003 she has also held full time on air shifts in Charleston, SC & Mobile, AL.

When listening to the Kelly Mac Show, you can assure yourself with a good laugh, great updated information on local issues, celebrity news and some inspiration to get you through your work day. Education is also a key point that Kelly brings to the JAMZ Listeners. Her motto is “Each one, teach one!” She believes education is empowerment & doesn’t mind taking it to the air ways. Kelly has featured several politicians and political issues on her show as well as interviews with some of the most well known celebrities in the industry. The highlight of her career was when she interviewed President Barack Obama & former President Bill Clinton.

Many describe the “Midday Mommi” as a positive role model in the Upstate and she regularly attends various schools and churches to speak out about the importance of staying in school, choosing a career path and being positive. During the 2009-2010 school year, she attended and participated in over 30 community events, career fairs and school appearances.

IF I WASN'T IN RADIO, I'D BE: On unemployment and welfare (LOL). More than likely, I'd be working with teenage girls that have been in some type of trouble or family crisis.

MOST INFLUENTIAL PERSON IN MY LIFE: God 1st!!! My son also inspires me and keeps me moving and focused! Oh, I love & cherish my dad too.
