Barbie T is from Spartanburg SC and graduated from Lander university with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and theatre. She is a syndicated radio personality for Summit Media and is the first African American woman to host a morning show on stations Hot 98.1 and Hot 104.5. Barbie T branded #SheGotValue after dealing with a relationship where she was told she had no value. She was able to dig deeper within herself to find that value and now she wants to help other young women see the value within themselves. Barbie T works hard to contribute to the community with various events. She hosts and collects prom dresses for the Cinderella Project and organized the #SheGotValue Community Drive. She is heavily involved in the community with toy drives for the Julie Valentine Center and raising money for A Child’s Haven. She volunteers her services across the upstate not only to show she cares but to help others. Barbie T enjoys speaking to children at elementary schools as well as volunteering her services to local organizations. She is an ordained officiant who enjoys bringing lives together in love and matrimony. Barbie T goes above and beyond to help those in our community and for that she is an Upstate Black History Maker.
