The Inaugural Anderson Fall Carnival opens to the community at the Anderson Mall (3131 North Main Street) on Friday, October 18th and runs through Saturday, October 26th. Amusement rides, prize filled games, and traditional carnival foods are planned for the 9-day event. The midway at the Anderson Fall Carnival will be provided by Orlando-based James E. Strates Shows, Inc.

The family-friendly Anderson Fall Carnival will feature 18 state-of-the-art carnival rides including kiddie rides designed especially for children, and midway favorites like the “Monkey Maze,” “Dream Wheel,” “The Rockstar,” and the enduring family favorite, the classic American carousel. The mini fair will feature fresh, tantalizing foods with incredible, mouth-watering aromas in the air. From out-of-this-world funnel cakes dusted with powdered sugar to French Fries drizzled with vinegar, fairgoers will be sure to enjoy favorite foods and beverages.

A legendary name in the outdoor amusement business, the famous Strates Shows carnival midway was once synonymous with fairs and family fun in Northwest South Carolina. The Strates Family first began providing the rides, games and concessions to the Anderson Fair in the mid-1940s. In 1978, the Show returned to the Fair to begin a 29-year run as the event’s midway provider. From 1982 to 2007, Strates Shows owned & operated the Anderson County Fair & Expo Center grounds on Williamston Road until the family sold the property to facilitate the growth and expansion of Anderson College South Carolina. Shows returns to Anderson as a result of the hurricane related cancellation of the Georgia- Carolina Fair in Augusta, GA.

The Anderson Fall Carnival opens at 5pm Monday through Friday and at 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Closing times vary based on weather conditions and midway capacity. This year’s Fall Fair will offer FREE parking and FREE gate admission for all patrons. Fairgoers will be able to take advantage of a money saving, unlimited ride pay-one-price wristbands for just $25.00 per person.
